Understanding how SQL Server organizes your data under the hood can seem like a daunting task. But Brandon Leach makes it fun by explaining the concepts and telling humorous stories along the way. In this session, Brandon will focus on how objects are stored in a data file. <BR><BR> You'll hear how these concepts tie in to your work as a DBA or developer. You’ll get to see the concepts in through demos and learn how you can use this knowledge to design better solutions. Brandon will also demo some neat tools to help you dig in and learn further. <BR><BR> After this session you will understand: <BR>• The three basic types of storage in SQL Server <BR>• The physical structure of a row and how it affects performance <BR>• Differences in how SQL Server works with heaps and clustered indexes <BR>• How pages are allocated and tracked <BR>• How to use various tools to continue your learning
